Microbiology Laboratory
The Microbiology Laboratory introduces students to the study of microorganisms and their roles in health, disease, and the environment. Through guided observations and demonstrations, students develop a foundational understanding of microbiological concepts while adhering to strict safety and hygiene practices.
Lab Objectives
- Understand basic types of microorganisms
- Learn how microorganisms impact human health
- Develop proper laboratory observation skills
- Practice safe and responsible lab behavior
Lab Equipment & Resources
- Compound Microscopes
- Prepared slides and visual specimens
- Culture plates (for instructor-led demonstrations)
- Staining charts and microbiology diagrams
- Personal protective equipment (gloves, lab coats, goggles).
- Hot Air Oven
Lab Safety & Guidelines
- Follow all laboratory safety rules at all times.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Do not bring food, drinks, or personal items into the laboratory.
- Wash hands thoroughly before and after all laboratory activities.
- Handle all materials strictly according to the instructor’s instructions.
